PERU – Whitko freshman Breanna Keirn netted her first-ever hat trick to boost Whitko to a 3-1 win over Peru.

Keirn scored her first goal in the first half, then potted a pair in the second half to guide Whitko to its second win of the season.

Keirn’s classmate, Kaylee Gaff, corralled 13 saves to earn her first career win.

Whitko moves to 2-13 on the season with its final contest an appetizing one at arch rival Columbia City on Wednesday. The Wildcats will then focus on the sectional at Fort Wayne Blackhawk, where it will take on Woodlan at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the first game of the bracket.
