WARSAW — Attending programs at Warsaw Community Public Library can be fun and educational, however not every type of program appeals to everybody in the community.

Because of this, WCPL has made it easier for patrons to keep track of their preferred types of programs, allowing them to subscribe to the ones they would like to know more about.

Accessing the subscribe list is easy. Patrons can go to www.warsawlibrary.org and click the calendar of events link along the left sidebar, then find a program that interests them. Clicking on the program will take the user to a page with several options, including a link that says, “subscribe.” The person would click on this, then fill out the form that pops up. This will add the user to an email list for all events of that particular type.

As an example, if somebody is interested in crafts, that person would click on an upcoming craft program, then fill out the subscribe list. Once subscribed, that user will receive notifications any time there is a craft program coming up at the library.

Teens looking for something to do after school can subscribe to teen programming and receive notifications.

“Never miss a Drop in Zone, Minecraft or other awesome teen event. Subscribe today,” Teen Librarian Anna Jackson said.

Library programs are open to anyone in the community regardless of whether they have a library card. Because of this, subscribers do not need a library card number to join the list. They simply enter their first and last name and email address.

To make it easier to find a particular program type, the library’s calendar uses a color system as follows:

Children’s programs, orange; teen programs, pink; adult programs, dark blue; craft programs for adults, turquoise; technology-related programs, green; movies, red; of-site library programs, white; and yellow, indicating a holiday closing. Gray indicates a private meeting, for which there is no subscribe option.

To begin subscribing, simply visit www.warsawlibrary.org.
