
Steven W. “Steve” Solina, 68, Syracuse, passed away at 4:44 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at Mason Health & Rehab in Warsaw. He was born on Sept. 30, 1948 in South Charleston, W. Va. to Bernard Homer and Margaret E. (Chapman) Solina.
He grew up in West Virginia and attended St. Albans High School in St. Albans, W. Va. He moved to the Syracuse area in September 1968 from West Virginia and was married on Jan. 11, 1969 in Syracuse to Connie L. Brown, who survives. He retired in 2010 from Kinro, Inc. in Syracuse after 15+ years and was a lifetime salesman for the RV Industry.
He was a member of the Maxwelton Golf Club in Syracuse and his greatest passion in life was the love for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Connie; two daughters: Candice (Joseph) Salvo, Syracuse; Kelli (Jason) Gambrel, North Verndon; his son, Chris Solina, Milford; seven grandchildren, Delaney, Elijah, Margaret, Evan, Emma, Grace and Brock; his sister, Lisa (David) Hampton, Goshen; his brother, Rod (Monica) Solina, Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of a traditional funeral service, the family has decided to honor Steve with a Celebration of Life Gathering from 5–8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Blue Barn Berry Farm, 9139 N. 300E, Syracuse. Private burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery at a later date. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw is in charge of arrangements.
