Girls Soccer

The NorthWood girls soccer team lost a 2-0 final to Goshen.

The host RedHawks scored a goal in each half to claim the Northern Lakes Conference win.

Jill Kissinger put Goshen up 1-0 in the opening half with a breakaway goal.

Alexa Medina added a second-half goal for the RedHawks, assisted by Aniya  Hartzler.

Goshen had a 15-9 edge in shots in the match. NorthWood goalie Kira Robinson had nine saves. Goshen keeper Madi Rittenhouse made seven stops.

It was the fifth shutout of the season for Goshen.

Goshen improves to 7-2-1 overall and moves to 4-2 in the NLC. NorthWood drops to 7-2-2 overall and sits at 2-2-1 in league play.

Goshen won the junior varsity match 6-1. The Goshen JV team improves to 8-0-1.

NorthWood plays at Elkhart Central Saturday night. Goshen plays at Fort Wayne Concordia, also on Saturday night.
