NorthWood SportsVolleyball

The NorthWood volleyball team rolled past host South Bend Riley by a 3-0 count.

Kennedy Wiens and Natalie Gerber powered the Panthers to a 25-13, 25-8, 25-13 win in the non-conference match.

Wiens had 11 kills and Gerber 10 in the win. Wiens also had four aces, while Courtney Lengacher and Gracie Clark each added two.

Lengacher also had 12 digs, a block and 35 assists in a strong all-around effort for the Panthers.

Whitney Gessinger and Wiens each had nine digs in the win.

The NorthWood junior varsity team won 25-4, 25-9. Bre Wise had five kills and Kate Rulli four kills and three digs. Caroline Mullett had 10 aces and 11 assists for the winners.

NorthWood hosts Elkhart Memorial in a conference match Thursday night.

 

Boys Tennis

The NorthWood boys tennis team lost 3-2 to Westview in non-conference play.

The Warriors won all three singles match to earn the victory over the Panthers.

Kurtis Davis topped Wes Troyer 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles action.

Austin Hostetler beat Landon Holland 6-0, 3-6, 6-1 at No. 2 singles play and Ryan Barker stopped Jack Wysong 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 to complete the sweep.

The Panthers won both doubles matches. The team of Jared Hoffman and Brant Mast won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 for NorthWood. The duo of Trevor Klotz and Trajan Schwartz prevailed 6-3, 7-5 at No. 2.

Westview won the junior varsity match 5-2.

NorthWood returns to conference play at Northridge Tuesday night.
