NORTH JUDSON – Triton added another honor to its growing list of accomplishments in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Saturday afternoon. Landing four golfers in the top eight, Triton built a comfortable score of 410 to win its first-ever girls golf championship at the HNAC tourney at Chesapeake Golf Club.
The score of the day for the Trojans came from Delaney Groves, who shot a 99 to finish as runner-up in the tournament and earn All-HNAC honors in the process. Megan McFarland and Alysha May also garnered All-HNAC honors with their rounds of 101, which landed McFarland fourth and May fifth in the standings.
Kate Gardner’s 109 was eighth overall and Whytnie Miller finished at 112 for Triton, which came home 22 shots better than Winamac’s runner-up total of 432. Pioneer was third at 475, North Judson fourth at 484 and Knox fifth at 487. The conference has seven teams present, five with enough to score as a unit.
