Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
6:51 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, West US 30 and North SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Joshua M. Vallejo, 28, Ranch Road, Warsaw. Vallejo struck a large piece of tire that was in the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
6:59 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, West US 30 and North SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Michael K. Varney, 45, East Park Drive, Huntington. Varney struck a large piece of tire that was in the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
5:27 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, South SR 15 and West CR 700S, Warsaw. Driver: Lindsey M. Cassidy, 31, Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw. Cassidy struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
2:51 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 1800 W. Center St., Warsaw. Unknown driver. An unknown driver struck a black 2016 Buick Regal in the Zimmer building 5 parking lot. The paint transfer on the parked vehicle was gray. Damage up to $2,500.
3:13 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, East Center Street, west of North Park Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Melissa J. Blue, 51, Presidential Drive, Winona Lake, and Tommy D. Burkett, 52, West CR 250S, Warsaw. Blue stated that when she tried to stop, her brake had little resistance and went to the floor. She was unable to stop and rear ended Burkett. Damage up to $2,500.
4:53 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2544 Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Drivers: Nicholas R. Henkler, 26, East Clark Street, Warsaw, and Janet L. Kinney 57, Yvonna Street, Leesburg. Both drivers were backing form parking spaces. Henkler saw Kinney too late to avoid a collision. Damage up to $5,000.
10:17 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 315 N. Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Abigail J. Blackburn, 17, West CR 900S, Silver Lake, and Sherry L. Brooks, 54, East Clark Street, Warsaw. Blackburn backed into Brooks while backing from a parking space. Damage up to $2,500.
9:18 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, East Main Street and North Indiana Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Angel C. Carpenter, 36, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw, and Amy J. Dickerhoff, 49, South Franklin Street, Mentone. Carpenter reportedly did not stop at a stop sign and proceeded into the intersection, colliding with Dickerhoff. Carpenter was cited for driving with a suspended license. Damage up to $10,000
