SOUTH WHITLEY – Wabash found the golden egg in overtime, beating Whitko 4-3 in extra time Saturday morning in girls soccer.
Wabash took a 3-0 lead in the second half, only for Whitko to come roaring back to tie the game at three. Charlotte Cripe converted a penalty kick, then Julia Seifert tucked a goal home, assisted by Breanna Keirn. Cripe would tie the game with her second tally of the match late in the second half.
Wabash would score the deciding goal in extra time.
Stephanie Baughman recovered from a tough start to make 12 saves in the match for the Wildcats. Whitko drops to 1-8 overall and will visit Fort Wayne Wayne on Monday.
