Golf Scramble Fundraiser Raises Over $6K

SYRACUSE — St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Goshen, organized a golf outing fundraiser on Aug. 22 at Maxwelton Golf Club, Syracuse, raising $6,444 for Goshen Interfaith Hospitality Network’s new homeless shelter.

The fundraiser was the most successful golf outing fundraiser to date for GIHN. Thirteen golf teams participated in the outing, which the church hopes to make into a yearly occurrence. The winning team was team “Los Monos,” consisting of Allen Peachey, team captain; Daryl Haarer; Kenton Hostetler; and Don Blosser.

The event’s title sponsor was Keystone RV. Additional sponsors included Patrick Industries, Swavelle Millcreek Fabricates, Genesis Products, Richloom Fabrics Group, Bright Support Services, Mary C Baker DDS, Hopper’s Pike St. Grille, Interra Credit Union and Crossroads Bank.
