WHITKO — The Indiana State Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Leadership Conference was February in Muncie, IN. Whitko High School FCCLA Junior, Rozlyn Bishop, competed in the Fashion Construction STAR Event and received a gold medal with her project entitled “Practically Perfect in Every Way.”

Bishop was named national qualifier which made her eligible to compete at the FCCLA National Conference in Nashville, Tennessee on July 1-6. With over 8,500 FCCLA members nation-wide in attendance, Bishop competed on July 3 and was announced as a Gold Medal National Winner for this Star Event on  July 6 in the Nashville Music Center.

This is the fourth consecutive year Bishop has competed and been named the national qualifier and winner at the state and national conferences representing Whitko High School FCCLA. Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is unique among youth organizations because its programs are planned and run by its members. It is the only career and technical in-school student organization with family as its central focus. Participation in state programs and chapter activities help members become strong leaders in their families, careers and communities. The Whitko FCCLA sponsor is Amy Richards.
