SOUTH BEND – On Sunday, Aug. 27, the South Bend Cubs will honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their community on Fallen Heroes Day. The club will also announce the 2017 Corporal Paul Deguch Community Service Award recipient.

The team will honor fallen local police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel as part of a pregame ceremony. The Deguch award will also be given to a South Bend Cubs player that has shown extraordinary service to the South Bend community.

South Bend is about to embark on its final homestand of the season beginning with a series starting the 25th against Lake County and concluding Friday, Sept. 1 with its third game against West Michigan.
