NorthWood Tennis: Panthers Down Falcons

NorthWood SportsGOSHEN – The NorthWood boys tennis team collected a 4-1 win over Fairfield in non-conference action Monday night.

The No. 1 doubles duo of Jared Hoffman and Brant Mast led the way for the Panthers. The tandem topped Andrew Mamone and Tanner Nunemaker by a 6-1, 6-1 final.

NorthWood won a pair of singles matches as Ben Vincent beat Eric Gaby 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2 action and Jack Wysong outlasted Dylan Kaufman 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 on the No. 3 singles court.

The NorthWood No. 2 doubles team of Trevor Klotz and Trajan Schwartz defeated Jarin Bontrager and Ben Toole 7-5, 6-2.

Fairfield collected its win at No. 1 singles as Aaron Streit topped Wes Troyer 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.

Fairfield won the junior varsity action by a 6-1 final.

NorthWood (2-1) will open Northern Lakes Conference action versus Concord. Due to construction on courts at both schools, the JV match will be played Wednesday and the varsity match on Thursday. The JV match will begin at 4 p.m. with the varsity contest at 5 p.m. at Concord Junior High School.
