Valley Football: Second Half Dooms Vikings At Bremen
BREMEN — Tippecanoe Valley’s football team entered halftime trailing host Bremen by just one point at 14-13, but the host Lions outscored the Vikings 27-0 over the final two frames to hand Valley a season-opening, 41-13 loss Friday night.
Bremen out-gained the Vikings 353-134 yards on the ground. The visitors had no answer for Bremen junior Nathan Mullen, who finished with 239 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 40 carries. Junior Alex Morrison led the Vikings with 56 yards in 13 carries, while sophomore Jace Potter finished with 35 yards in seven touches.
Tanner Trippiedi went 9-17-1 with 88 passing yards and a 240yard touchdown completion to Jalen Shepherd in the second quarter. Wes Melanson had three catches for 21 yards, and Isaac Randall finished with a pair of catches for 23 receiving yards.
The Vikings will try to get first-year head coach Stephen Moriarty his first win as Valley opens its home schedule with Culver Academy next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
