Doris Ann Stair, 84, Wabash, died at 4:35 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor East in Wabash. She was born Aug. 7, 1933 in Wabash County to Denzil and Thelma (Stair) Leming.

Doris was the Salutatorian of her graduating class from LaFontaine High School. She married George Stair in New Boston, Texas on June 5, 1988; he died Jan. 28, 1995. She worked at Wagner’s in Wabash, Rolling Meadows Healthcare in LaFontaine, Tucson Medical Center, and also delivered Meals on Wheels. Doris was a member of the Apostolic Church of Wabash since 1966. Her church and family were most important in her life.

She is survived by five children, David E. (Priscilla) King, Sr. of Wabash, Lynda Mcquay of Bono, Ark., Richard M. (Paula Jo) King of Wabash, James M. (Onita) King of Batesville, Ark., Thomas A. (Barbara) King, of Somerset, sister, Janice S. Case of Wabash, 17 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 21 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rev. Richard King officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call 10 – 11 am., Monday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Apostolic Church of Wabash.
