Girls golf
Triton’s girls golf team beat visiting Whitko 212-248 on the Lady Trojans’ home course at Rozella-Ford Thursday.

Kate Gardner and Delanie Groves carded a pair of 52s to lead Triton, while Alysha May shot 53. Megan McFarland carded 55, and Whytnie Miller turned in a 56 for Triton.

Lakeland Christian’s Abigail Fishel earned low medalist honors with a score of 49.

For Whitko, Bailey Wright shot 59, and Makayla Compton, Summer West and Kayce Sims all carded 63. Erin Starkweather shot 66 for the Wildcats’ toss-out score.

Boys tennis
Triton tennis suffered a 4-1 setback to Rochester Thursday evening.

The Trojans’ lone win came at one doubles, where Keygan Mosier and Chase Butler battled back from a narrow opening set loss to hand Kyle Reinartz and Austin Utter a 5-7, 7-6(3), 6-1 defeat.

Tyler Heckaman and Jared Bules finished on the other side of another close three-setter versus Andrew Dunwoody and Aaron Meiser at two doubles, 5-7, 7-6 (3), 6-1.

John Gardner won six games at two singles but fell to Ean Pugh in two 6-3 sets, while Trevor Miller and Carter Kuntz were shut out to Chase Brown and Quique Perego at one and three singles, respectively, as Triton took its first loss of the season, slipping to 2-1.

Triton’s JV team also fell, 2-1.
