PLYMOUTH — Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is seeking persons who may have information regarding a hit-and-run accident during the overnight hours Wednesday, Aug. 2 into Thursday morning, Aug. 3. Police are searching for a pickup truck with a wide wheel base, possibly lifted.

Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies were contacted at 3:55 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, of a vehicle being struck by an unknown vehicle at a residence in the 3000 block of Michigan Road, Plymouth.

Evidence at the scene revealed a 2013 Ford Escape was parked on the north side of the residence near a pole building, approximately 1150 feet off the roadway. Police found vehicle tracks in the grass, which indicated a vehicle had been traveling south on Michigan Road, went off the road just south of 3A Road. After the vehicle went off the road it turned sideways and hit the back of the Ford Escape before leaving the scene.

Based on evidence at the scene, police believe the vehicle was a larger, possibly lifted, pickup truck with a wide wheel base. There was also a large black center cap, from the truck, located in the grass where the vehicle had been sliding sideways.

Police are asking if anyone has any information regarding the crash to contact Patrolman Jordan Rans with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department at (574) 936-3187.
