Wawasee Athletics: Frosh Football, JV Girls Soccer Notes
SYRACUSE – Wawasee athletics made a pair of announcements ahead of the 2017-18 fall season.
The freshman football game against West Noble on Thursday, Aug. 31, has been cancelled due to West Noble not fielding a freshman team. Wawasee is currently seeking a replacement game for the same date.
The high school football season opens Aug. 11 with scrimmages, Wawasee hosting Mishawaka Marian among the state’s slate. The Warriors will open its regular season at home Aug. 18 against Lakeland and will visit West Noble on Aug. 25.
The girls soccer program is also announcing it will have to forfeit its JV season in not being able to field a full roster. The following time changes have been made to the varsity calendar in regards to the announcement.
The following list shows the new starting time for all home varsity contests:
- 8/8 vs. Columbia City (Scrimmage) – 5:00 pm
- 8/16 vs. West Noble – 6 p.m.
- 8/22 vs. Manchester – 6 p.m.
- 8/31 vs. Lakeland Christian Academy – 7 p.m.
- 9/2 vs. Goshen – 6 p.m.
- 9/6 vs. Whitko – 6 p.m.
- 9/12 vs. Columbia City – 5 p.m.
- 9/21 vs. Plymouth – 6 p.m.
- 9/23 vs. Warsaw – 11:30 a.m.
Away games have not been immediately affected, but an announcement will be made it changes are made.
