Artemio Guzman-Macias, 58, Ligonier, passed away unexpectedly at 9:10 a.m., Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.

He was born on Sept. 3, 1958, the son of Ruben Guzman Solas and Maria Aurora Macias (Segobio) in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Artemio had many character traits. He relocated to Ligonier from Mexico in 1992. His daytime activities were spent working for himself as both a cook and a musician. He was talented at singing as well as being able to make music playing the guitar, accordion or piano. His favorite thing to cook was patas or chicharrones. He loved his family more than anything and was a devoted friend, and neighbor, he always found time to spend with anyone.

Surviving is his beloved wife, Maria Noel Guzman Contreras; mother, Maria Aurora Macias Segobio; three sons, John, Mike, and Taylor Guzman; siblings, Margarita Guzman, Gilberto Guzman, Miguel Guzman, Martin Guzman, Ruben Guzman, Juan Guzman, Vidal Guzman, and Antonio Guzman, along with many nieces and nephews.

Artemio was preceded in death by his father; Ruben Guzman Salas.
