
SYRACUSE — A Syracuse man was arrested for dealing after officers found mushrooms, marijuana and evidence of dealing inside his residence.
Robert Wayne Lonjin, 36, 10080 Turkey Creek Road, Syracuse, is being charged with dealing a controlled substance, a level 3 felony; possession of of a controlled substance while in possession with a firearm, a level 6 felony; and possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to Lonjin’s residence for a wellness check. When officers arrived, Lonjin advised he was withdrawing from methamphetamines and having a difficult time. A shotgun and muzzleloader were then removed from inside the residence.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Lonjin admitted to officers that he had illegal drugs inside the house. He gave officers consent to search the residence to obtain the drugs. Inside a closet, officers located a toolbox that contained a 7.6 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms, scales, plastic baggies with numbers written on them, 8.3 grams of marijuana and $895.
Lonjin is currently in custody of the Kosciusko County Jail with a $20,250 surety and cash bond.
