SYRACUSE — A Syracuse man is facing charges after punching a woman and fracturing her jaw before punching an autistic minor in the collarbone.
Ervin A. Starrett Jr., 51, 2701 E. Bucher Drive, Syracuse, is being charged with battery causing serious bodily injury, a level 5 felony, and battery committed against a person with mental disability by a person having the care of the person, a level 6 felony.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, an officer with the Kosciusko Sheriff’s Department responded to a battery at Starrett’s residence in Syracuse on June 18.
Upon arrival the officer spoke with a female victim. The victim stated she had spent the day with Starrett at “the lake” and when they returned to the residence Starrett became violent.
