Roy F. Bradbury — UPDATED

Roy F. Bradbury died Monday, July 10, 2017 in the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.  He was 81.

One of five children born to Howard and Hazel (Wright) Bradbury, Roy was born Feb. 17, 1936 in Atwood. He attended Atwood High School.

He and Jean Moore Corson were married February 14, 1992 in Warsaw, Indiana.

A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, Roy worked in the maintenance department at Biomet for 13 years, retiring in 2002.

He was a life member of Warsaw American Legion Post #49 where he had been its commander three times. He also was past president of the Warsaw Eagles. Roy proudly sat on the Board of Directors for the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds for 19 years.  And he faithfully served as a volunteer fireman on the Warsaw Fire Department for 28 years.

In addition to his wife, Jean (Warsaw), survivors include two sons: John (companion, Becky May) Bradbury of Columbia City; and Scott Bradbury, Warsaw; two daughters: Sonja (Gary) Catherman of Goshen; and Cindy Brown, Warsaw; two step-sons: Fred (Rebecca) Moore of Seven Lakes, Wash.; and Donny Holbrook, Warsaw; two step-daughters: Joanna Moore of Bloomington; and Kimberly (Michael) Nieckula of Valparaiso; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; brother: Jack (Sandy) Bradbury of Waukegan, Ill.; and sister:  Nancy Richards of Bensenville, Ill.

Roy was preceded in death by son, Dan Bradbury (June 14, 2010), daughter-in-law:  Millie Bradbury (Aug. 23, 2010), granddaughter, Mindy Jones (Jan.1, 2012), two brothers:  James Bradbury (Aug. 8, 1992) and W. William Bradbury (Feb. 21, 2008) and step-son: Michael Moore (Jan. 10, 2007).

Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 13 in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.  Roy’s life will be celebrated Friday morning beginning at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.  Ken Locke of Salvation Army will officiate.  Military honors will follow and be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.  Burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

The family has asked that memorial contributions be directed to the American Legion Post #49, 301 N. Buffalo, Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
