WARSAW ─ Ivy Tech Community College announces the addition of Dr. Joseph Frentzel as a full-time faculty member at the Warsaw campus for the 2017-18 academic year. He’ll primarily be responsible for teaching anatomy and physiology courses for health services.

Dr. Frentzel most recently served as the chairman of the Natural Science department at Ivy Tech’s Elkhart County campus, where he was selected as the college’s 2016 regional winner for the President’s Award for Excellence in Instruction for North Central.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Frentzel to the Warsaw campus,” Warsaw campus president Dr. Allyn Decker said. “His academic credentials and engaging teaching style will help our students achieve success in health science education. We are also pleased that this move will allow (him) to be even more involved in the local community.”

With a doctoral degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Michigan State University, Dr. Frentzel mentors middle school students, volunteers at Elkhart’s ETHOS Science Center and is heavily involved in community-based activities.

Dr. Frentzel, a resident of Warsaw, is married with two children.
