Lawrence W. “Larry” Stewart, 56, Columbia City, passed away at 12:55 a.m. Friday June 30, at his residence.

Born on July 28, 1960 in Sharpsburg, Kentucky, he was the son of William and Juanita (Banks) Stewart.

Larry attended local schools and graduated from Columbia City Joint High School, with the Class of 1979.  Following high school he took welding and electrical training courses to work in maintenance and construction positions.

On September 20, 1985, Larry married Mischelle Brown in Columbia City.

Larry was a member of Community of Hope Church, Columbia City, and in his free time enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, and camping.

Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Mischelle Stewart, Columbia City; children Amber (David Warner) Heady, Warsaw, Dustin (Abby) Stewart, South Whitley, and Maley (Jackie Arend) Stewart, Columbia City; grandchildren Taylie Heady, Avary Heady, Brielle Heady, Amelya Stewart, and Elliana Stewart; brothers Steve (Mitzi) Stewart, Columbia City, DeWayne Stewart, Fort Wayne, and Bobby (Joni) Stewart, Larwill; brother-in-law Robert Sroufe, Larwill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lynn Sroufe, and nephew Brandon Stewart.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday July 5, at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

Funeral services for Larry will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday July 6, at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Larwill.
