Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
3:40 a.m. Monday, June 26, West US 30 and North SR 19, Etna Green. Drivers: Waldemar A. Palys, 61, Woodale Road, Stroudsburg, Pa., and Vicki S. Bartz, 52, South Line Street, South Whitley. Stroudsburg believed he might have fallen asleep, stating he remembers looking and seeing that there was a car in his lane and the light was red. Stroudsburg rear ended Bartz’s vehicle while Bartz was stopped at the light. Bartz was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner. Damage over $100,000.
9:15 a.m. Monday, June 26, East CR 450N and North CR 100E, Warsaw. Drivers: Deborah J. Avery, 46, West CR 250S, Warsaw, and Rachel A. Horsmon, 39, East Armstrong Road, Leesburg. Avery rear ended Horsmon at a stop sign. Damage up to $1,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
10:07 a.m. Monday, June 26, South Columbia Street and West Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Meredith A. Robertson, 36, West Hoppus Road, Warsaw, and Tania Gil, 25, Laurelwood Drive, Warsaw. Robertson did not see the stop sign on South Columbia Street and crossed in front of Gil’s vehicle causing a collision. Damage up to $5,000.
12:32 p.m., Monday, June 26, alley south of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Craig E. Malott, 46, North Columbia Street, Warsaw, and Riley R. Anglin, 26, East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Both parties were in the alley behind Yamato’s Steakhouse waiting to turn onto Argonne Road. Malott did not see Anglin behind him and began to back up to use the other exit, striking Anglin’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
4:50 p.m. Monday, June 26, Anchorage Road and Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Dori E. Knight, 17, South Hall Drive, Nineveh, and Leah L. Boardley, 44, North Webster. Knight attempted to turn east onto Lake City Highway and, due to the rain, was unable to see Boardley heading east on Anchorage Road, turning in front of her and causing a collision. Damage up to $5,000.
