
Karey Eugene Burk, 63, Marathon, Fla., passed away at 8:40 a.m., Sunday, June 3, 2017 in Goshen.
On March 7, 1954, Karey was born in Warsaw to Arthur and Marie (Gregory) Burk. Karey served our country honorably in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class from 1971 – 1973. He was a resident of Marathon for the last twenty one years, previously he was employed by Lawn Rangers of Warsaw in chemical applications.
Karey was a member of American Legion Post #154, Marathon, Florida; life member of VFW, Marathon and former member of American Legion Post #49, Warsaw and American Legion Post #258, Pierceton. He had a love of the ocean and was an avid fisherman. In Marathon, he organized food drives for the needy and was active in fundraising for the Wounded Warriors.
He is survived by three sisters, Julie (and spouse Tim) Reams, Goshen, Judy (and spouse Don) Prater, Claypool, Elizabeth Gregory, Claypool and his brother, Gary Gregory, Claypool. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours are scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 9 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10 at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton with full military honors by the American Legion Post #258, Pierceton and the Military Funeral Honor Guard.
