Warsaw Golf: Tigers Sixth In Jeff Invite

Warsaw SportsLAFAYETTE – The Warsaw boys golf team tuned up for postseason play with a sixth-place finish in the Lafayette Jefferson Invitational Saturday.

The Tigers earned their finish in the loaded field of 21 teams by shooting a 319 at the Battle Ground Golf Course.

Carmel, ranked No. 2 in the state, won the team title by shooting 292. No. 3 Westfield was runner-up with a 296.

Luke Delp paced the Tigers with a round of 77.

The duo of Sam Yeager and Tim Rata were right behind with rounds of 78 and 79 respectively for Warsaw.

Luke Johnson fired an 85 and Tommy Meier shot a 90 for the Tigers.

Warsaw will host its own sectional on Friday at the Rozella Ford Golf Course.
