Richard A. “Rick” Goings, 60, of Columbia City, died Thursday, May 25.

He was born Feb. 14, 1957 in Columbia City a son of Richard Dale and Lois E. (Lake) Goings. His formative years were spent in South Whitley. He graduated from Whitko High School.

A shrimper, cowboy, truck driver, welder, carpenter and machinist, his last employment was with Central Supply.

Surviving relatives include his daughter, Angie Goings Thornsbearry of Albion; two grandchildren, Adara Goings and Logan Hite, both of Albion; his mother, Lois Keener of Columbia City; and two sisters, Cindra Evans of Corpus Christy Texas and Debra Goodrich of Albion.

Rick was preceded in death by his father and step father, Jerry Keener.

The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday May 30 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials are requested to the final expense account payable to Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
