Marian Rosalie Ingle, 86, of Nappanee, passed away at 2:15 p.m., Thursday, May 25, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse, following a short illness.

She was born Feb. 22, 1931 in Davies County  to Snowden Marion and Dovie Mae (Byrer) Empson. On Feb.28, 1948 she married Melvin Ingle in Tipton. He preceded her in death Jan.17, 2012. Marian moved to Nappanee in 1948. She was a homemaker and had formerly worked at Vitreous in Nappanee, and retired from Lycro in Wakarusa. Marian was a member of the Nappanee Church of God. She was a prayer warrior, especially for family. She collected owls and enjoyed playing the piano.

She is survived by her children, Debra (Wade) Krull, Nappanee; Gary (Deb) Ingle, Mesa, Ariz; Bruce Ingle, Nappanee; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; sister, Kaye (Joe) Newlin, Kokomo; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Sharp, Kokomo.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Verlin Empson; and sisters, Sherry Sharp and Norma (Bates) Krick.

Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral services on Thursday, June 1 at Nappanee Church of God. Pastor Nick Alexander, of Nappanee Church of God, and Pastor Jeff Seaver will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Center Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Harbor Light Hospice.
