Scott Alan Gardner
Scott Alan Gardner, 69, Plymouth, died at 10:46 p.m., May 19, 2017, at his residence where he had been in declining health.
Scott was born on May 13, 1948 in Argos to Harold D. Gardner and Caroline (Sinclair) Gardner. Scott had been back in the Argos Community for the past 15 years, spending the last year on Kreighbaum Lake near Plymouth.
He had lived in Freeport, Ill. for 25 years prior to his return to Argos.
Scott worked as a Certified Mechanic for Harley-Davidson in Freeport, Illinois and worked as a security officer at Monaco in Freeport, Ill. He was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1966. He was a member of the Bourbon American Legion, Post #424, Bourbon. Scott served in the United States Army from Oct. 30, 1966 with the 42nd Artillery, 4th Infantry Division and on July 30, 1968 he received his Honorable Discharge. Scott then served in the United States Army Reserve till Oct. 18, 1972 and received his Honorable Discharge.
Scott is survived by his daughter, Nichole (Ryan) Ivey, Mishawaka; grandchildren: Matthew Gann, Makayla Gann, Mariama Becerril and Kevin Becerril; his companion, Teri Lord, Plymouth; his sister, Christine Doss, Jacksonville, Ill.; his brother, Michael (Lynn) Gardner, Shannon, Ill.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, and his faithful canine Connect the “Dots”
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday May 23 at 11 a.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos with Chaplain Phil Mitchell of the Hamlet American Legion. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana with the Bourbon American Legion Post#424 Honor Guard.
