WARSAW — If you stopped by Martin’s Supermarket on Husky Trail in Warsaw today, Sunday, May 21, chances are you saw the Planters Nutmobile parked out front. The Nutmobile, a 26-foot-long peanut on wheels, is traveling around the country for the 2017 tour.
Harrison Plaza, a recent ASU graduate and one of the “Peanutters” traveling in the vehicle on the 2017 tour, stated, “We travel around the country visiting grocery stores, festivals and sporting events in an effort to spread cheer throughout communities.” The Peanutters pass out coupons for Planters nuts as well as free samples.
The first Nutmobile was on the road in 2013, and two more Nutmobiles joined the team in 2014. Each mobile covers a different territory: West Coast, East Coast and central.
Planters’ sister brand at Kraft Foods is Oscar Mayer, operator of the famous Weinermobile, a road warrior since 1936. The Nutmobile isn’t as famous, but it is certainly attracting a nutty amount of attention.
