Bourbon

Officers with the Bourbon Police Department investigated the following incident:

  • 5:53 a.m. Saturday, May 13, SR 331 and11th Road. Bourbon Police Officer Matt Geiger stopped a vehicle for speeding 85 mph in a 55 mph speed limit at SR 331 and 11th Road. It was found the driver, Michael L. Carver, Tippecanoe, had been drinking. He also had on his person a small bag of what later field-tested positive for the presence of marijuana. He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of marijuana. Bond was set at $1,500.

Marshall

Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following incidents:

  • 10:08 p.m. Friday, May 12. Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy A.J. Wozniak noticed a vehicle exceeding the maximum speed limit in the area of US 30 and Cedar Road. The vehicle was traveling 95 mph. The officer turned his commission around and caught up to the vehicle, noticing it was then traveling 100 miles per hour and swerving in and out of traffic. The vehicle was stopped on US 30, east of SR 19. Cortrell Deondre Jones 19, Fort Wayne, was taken into custody for reckless driving and booked in the Kosciusko County Jail.
  • 1:11 p.m. Friday, May 12, 100 block US 30 and King Road, Plymouth. Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy Les McFarland stopped Essence Anderson, 19, Chicago, Ill., for exceeding the posted speed limit, 83 in a 60 mph zone. During the traffic stop, McFarland detected what he believed to be burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. He recovered what is belied to be marijuana from the vehicle. She was booked in the Marshall County Jail for operating a vehicle while intoxicated – controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
  • 2:12 a.m. Friday, May 12, 100 block US 30 and Iris Road, Plymouth. Marshall County Sheriffs Deputy A.J. Woziak initiated a traffic stop in the area of US 20 and Iris Road for exceeding the maximum posted sped limit. While speaking with the occupant of the vehicle, the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in marijuana and Xanas being located on the passenger front seat floor board. Derrick Lamont Ferree, 26, Randleman, N.C., was taken into custody and booking in the Marshall County Jail.
