Ervin E. Hughes, 86, Syracuse, passed away at 9:52 a.m. Wednesday, May 10 at his home. He was born on September 19, 1930, in Pike County, Ohio to William A. & Martha Hughes.

He attended school in Ohio and was married on September 2, 1967, in Wise, VA to Olive B. (Morse) Herrell who preceded him on February 11, 2005. He moved to Syracuse area in 1968 from Ohio, retired from Fairmont Homes in Nappanee. He formerly worked in the coal mines in Virginia, was a truck driver for many years, and Coachman Trailer Company for several years.

He is survived by three brother, Denver Hughes, Jackson, Ohio, Donald Hughes Cincinnati, Ohio, and Ronald Hughes, Ohio and several Nieces & Nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and six sisters.

Private family graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 12 in the Pattonsville Community Cemetery in Jackson, Ohio. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
