
Wanda (Truelove) Stout, 89, Ligonier, died at 11:28 a.m., Sunday, May 7, 2017.
She was at the New North Ridge Village Nursing Home in Albion. She was born on Nov. 28, 1927 to Lawrence and Carol (Bell) Truelove in Noble County. She married Phillip Stout on Aug. 15, 1948; he preceded her in death on July 11, 2001.
Wanda was a lifetime area resident and worked very hard as a homemaker. She loved gardening, various projects, being a 4-H Leader for nine years and making memories with her family. She was a charter member of the Chatterbelles Home Economics Club, Richville United Methodist Women’s Club, Golden Girls Club, and the Ligonier American Legion Post 243 Ladies Axillary Club for many years. She was also a devoted member of the Richville United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Wanda will be missed for her ability to cut and serve all of the homemade pies during church functions.
She is survived by five sons: Kirk Stout, Cromwell; John (Julie) Stout of Syracuse; Robert (Becky) Stout, Ligonier; Michael (Laura) Stout, Warsaw; and Mark Stout of Ligonier; two daughters: Connie Groscost, Fort Wayne; and Joyce (Robin) Miller, Ligonier; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, along with her brother, Paul Truelove and sister Darlene Rimmel, both of Albion.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, Kay Truelove.
A funeral service will be held in Wanda Stout’s honor at 11 a.m. Friday, May 12 at Richville United Methodist Church. Pastor Gary Ford will officiate. Burial will take place at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell.
There will be a time of visitation from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, May 11 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier. Memorial contributions may be made to Richville United Methodist Church.
