NorthWood Tennis: Panthers Prevail Over Memorial

NorthWood SportsELKHART – The NorthWood girls tennis team didn’t mind putting in a little extra court time Tuesday night.

The Panthers rallied for a pair of three-set wins in downing host Elkhart Memorial 4-1 in Northern Lakes Conference action.

Hannah Walters posted a 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles for NorthWood. The No. 2 doubles team of Betsy Nunemaker and Katie Troyer rallied for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory for the Panthers.

Reegan Miller notched a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles for the winners, who improved to 7-0 overall and 2-0 in NLC play.

The No. 1 doubles team of Jama Rice and Kennedy Wiens won 6-2, 6-1.

Senior standout Krystal Grubb won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles for the lone point for Memorial.

NorthWood won the junior varsity action 9-3.

NorthWood hosts Plymouth in NLC play Thursday night.
