NorthWood Sports Wrap: April 12
Madison Miller had some debut in the circle for the NorthWood softball team Wednesday night.
Miller, making her first career varsity pitching start, fired a five-inning no-hitter as the Panthers pounded host LaVille 16-0.
Miller had 10 strikeouts in the dominating win in the non-conference matchup.
Rebecca Stacey led the offense for the Panthers with three hits and four RBI. Hannah Stickley had three hits and three RBI for NorthWood. Amanda Jenkins had three hits and Gracie Clark drove in three runs for the winners.
NorthWood hosts Concord in its Northern Lakes Conference opener on Monday.
Baseball
The NorthWood baseball team pounded past host LaVille 12-0 in six innings.
Drake Gongwer and Vincent Herschberger each cracked a home run to pace the offense for the Panthers.
The duo of Travis Stephenson and Matt Dutkowski each had three hits and Drew Minnich and Brant Mast each had two for the winners.
Preston King collected the pitching win for the Panthers.
