What is a Computer?

  • 1 – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4 
  • 1 – 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 6

This workshop provides an introduction to computers and their general functions. Participants will learn the basics of running a computer, including: ports and buttons, what’s inside and what an operating system is.  They’ll also learn how to navigate the many interfaces and options available through computers. We will utilize video and text tutorials, and will offer a quiz for those who would like to test their knowledge.

Practice Interview Workshop 

  • 11 a.m. – noon on Tuesday, April 11
  • 11 a.m. – noon on Wednesday, April 12

The Warsaw Career Center will host open mock interviews for anyone who wants to practice their interview skills. If you’re nervous about having an interview, or struggling to land a job because of the interview phase, these mock interviews will prepare you for the types of questions you may be asked. Please drop by between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm to practice your interview skills; and receive a 25% Discount Coupon to the adjacent Goodwill Retail Store!

Job Search Workshop

  • 1 – 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 13

Stop by the Career Center to search for open positions in the community.  You can also pick up / fill out applications and receive assistance applying online. The Career Center can point you in the direction that best suites you no matter what stage of life you are in.

Setting Up & Accessing Email

  • 1 – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18
  • 1 – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25

This informative workshop will teach you how to set-up, access and navigate your email.  You’ll also learn how to create an account recovery system using your cell phone or another email account.  For those who want to discover more skills, there is also a comprehensive tutorial and quiz.

Internet Safety Workshop

  • 1 – 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19

Participate in this workshop and learn how to create a strong password, access your web browser’s security features and avoid spam, phishing, malware and viruses.   You’ll also learn how to shop safely online and receive cell phone verifications. Wi-Fi security, social media privacy basics and what to do when your company gets a virus will also be covered.

Navigating the Internet

  • 1 – 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 20

What is the internet, the cloud, a web browser… and what are hyperlinks and URL’s? Learn the basics in this workshop and more!  Find out how to download and upload, navigate search engines and set up a Wi-Fi network. We have tutorials to assist you in gaining a more comprehensive understanding of the internet and its major functions and tools.
