WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools received a $22,500 grant from the K21 Foundation on Friday, March 24.

The grant will go toward equipment that will be implemented in all eight area elementary schools’ physical education programs.

Many students will be able to use the equipment that was purchased through the grant. Warsaw Community Schools Superintendent David Hoffert stated the physical education program was looking for physical activities for kids that are not necessarily traditional sports activities. Equipment from Drumfit, a cardio drumming program that combines the mental health benefits of drumming, was purchased through the grant.

“All of this equipment is helping them pursue a healthy lifestyle,” said Hoffert.

Harrison Elementary School Physical Education Teacher Scott said they are “extremely fortunate,” to receive the grant from the K21 Foundation.
