MILFORD — Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies and emergency personnel responded this morning, March 16, to a 9-1-1 call of a head-on crash on CR 1350N, near CR 75W, Milford at approximately 5:48 a.m.

Officers and Milford fireman arrived and found a black, 2009 GMC pickup truck had been struck head-on by a green, 2006 Jeep.

Fireman extracted Sarah E. Owens, 31, Milford, from her vehicle and she was airlifted from the scene and taken to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, in serious condition with a leg injury and facial lacerations.

A preliminary investigation into the crash by sheriff’s deputies has determined that Owens was westbound on CR 1350N when her vehicle began to skid on the ice-covered roadway, and crossed the center line. Owens vehicle struck the pickup driven by Mervin F. Etsinger, Jr., 60, New Paris, who had been travelling eastbound.

Estinger was transported to Goshen General Hospital, Goshen, in serious condition with a severe arm injury.
