NorthWood SportsINDIANAPOLIS – A pair of players from the state runner-up NorthWood football team highlight the area selections announced today for the Indiana Football Coaches Association’s North-South All-Star Football Game this summer.

NorthWood seniors Trey Bilinski and Caleb Newcomer were among the local standouts tabbed for the North team for the annual contest.

Quarterback Bilinski and offensive lineman Newcomer helped lead the Panthers to the Class 4-A state runner-up finish last November. The duo helped coach Nate Andrews’ team to a 14-1 record, which included Northern Lakes Conference, sectional, regional and semistate championships.

Andrews, the son of former NorthWood Hall of Fame coach Jim Andrews, was earlier named as the head coach of the North team for the All-Star game. The younger Andrews is 28-10 in three seasons as coach of his alma mater. Andrews, who was a three-sport star athlete in high school and went on to play football at Ball State University, is a 1996 NorthWood graduate.

The North All-Star team will also include wide receiver Rummel Johnson of Goshen, along with defensive back Kenny Kerrn of Jimtown. Also selected for the team were center Connor Glon of Mishawaka Marian, wide receiver Dylan Hunley of East Noble, tight end Jakob Young of Culver Academies and linebacker Brian Campbell of Mishawaka. The Penn duo of offensive lineman Keegan Hurst and defensive end Nate Boone were also tabbed for the squad.

The North-South game will be played on July 14 at North Central High School in Indianapolis.
