Martina McBride Returns To Elkhart County 4-H Fair

Martina McBride will perform at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair Tuesday, July 25. Reserved track seats online ticket sales will begin at 10 a.m. March 28.

ELKHART COUNTY — Martina McBride will join the concert line-up for the 2017 Elkhart County 4-H Fair, taking the grandstand stage Tuesday, July 25. She last performed at the fair on July 21, 1997.

Amanda Watkins will be the opening act for McBride.

McBride, a multiple-Grammy nominated artist, has sold more than 18 million albums to date, scoring 20 top-10 singles and six number-one hits.

Her most recent album, “Reckless,” launched last year with the release of the title track.

McBride has earned more than 15 major music awards, including four wins for Female Vocalist of the Year from the Country Music Association and three Academy of Country Music awards for Top Female Vocalist. She’s achieved 14 gold records, nine platinum, three double-platinum and two triple-platinum records. She was awarded the Covenant House Beacon of Hope Award and Music Business Association’s prestigious 2015 Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award for her philanthropic efforts on behalf of domestic violence.

Through her Team Music Is Love charity initiative, McBride partners with nonprofit causes to help many of the towns in which she performs.

Since 2011, Team Music Is Love has been responsible for many successful fundraising and volunteer projects helping causes such as hunger relief, cancer research, combating domestic violence and helping children in need. For more information, visit TeamMusicIsLove.com.

Recently, McBride released her first book, “Around the Table,” a full-color illustrated collection of her favorite recipes, hosting tips, practical menu planning advice and themed décor inspiration.

Grandstand seating for the concert, which starts at 8 p.m., is free with paid fair admission on a first-come, first-served basis. Reserved track seats will go on sale at 10 a.m. March 28 at www.4hfair.org. In-person and phone track-seating tickets for all shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. May 1 at the fair office.

McBride joins rock group Hinder, fellow country artist Dustin Lynch and a double show by Loverboy & Survivor in the fair concert series. The show for Sunday night (July 23) will be announced later.

The concert line-up for this year is:

  • Monday, July 24: Dustin Lynch (online tickets on sale now)
  • Tuesday, July 25: Martina McBride (online tickets available March 28)
  • Wednesday, July 26: Loverboy & Survivor (online tickets available March 14)

The 2016 Elkhart County 4-H Fair, “4-H, Generations of Farm Fresh Family Fun,” runs July 21-29.
