Reverend Francis Roland Rogers, 93, of Warsaw, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at his residence at Gardens of Lake City.

He was born on Nov. 29, 1918, in Rochester, Ind., to Raymond Roy Rogers and Ruth (Lowe) Rogers. He was married on April 6, 1946, to Betty Lou Dillman, who preceded him in death in 1990. He then remarried in 1991 to Ruth Hunter, who passed away in 2008.

He was at Pearl Harbor and served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was honorably discharged in 1945. Francis was a 1956 graduate of the Moody Bible Institute; a 1965 graduate of Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind.; and he received his Master’s degree from Purdue University in 1974. He was a Baptist minister in Illinois, Ohio, and in Rochester as well as a farmer. He had been a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., since 1999, where he was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church in Warsaw.

He will be lovingly remembered by his three daughters: Cyndi (Allan) Parman, Wabash, Ind.; Sandra Sue (David) Miller, Exeter, Calif.; Mary Ann (John) Pugh, Michigan City, Ind.; and his son: James Ray (Laurie) Rogers, Winona Lake; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister: Nora Ella Long, Avon, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, one brother: Jim Rogers; two sisters: Rhea Dielman and Rosella Benefiel.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 2, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. His funeral service will begin at noon in the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Michael Hontz. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Rochester, Indiana with military rites. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m.
