Winona Lake To Hold Summer Camp Fair In March
WINONA LAKE — Families will be given an opportunity to learn about activities in the area available for kids this summer. During the Winona Lake Town Council meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 21, the director of the Winona Lake Parks and Recreation Department and Senior Center,Holly Hummitch, announced a summer camp fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at Winona Lake Park.
Hummitch indicated this event is ideal for parents because it provides a centralized location for them to learn about numerous summer activities that will take place throughout the area. She mentioned summer camps and activities are offered by Grace College, the YMCA and Warsaw and Winona Lake Parks.
During the meeting, town marshal Joe Hawn requested the council approve a police body camera policy for the Winona Lake Police Department. The board unanimously approved the policy.
Town coordinator Craig Allebach announced a few events that will take place in Winona Lake in February and March. Willie Robertson of A & E show “Duck Dynasty” will be speaking at the MOCC at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24. The NCCAA National Championships will be held a the MOCC from March 15 to 18.
