LCA Basketball: Ladies Crush Clinton Christian
GOSHEN – The Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team closed out the regular season with a big win Saturday night.
The Cougars took care of host Clinton Christian 43-20 in their regular-season finale.
LCA led just 6-5 after the opening period before taking a 22-9 halftime lead. The Cougars led 34-15 at the end of the third period.
Hope Fancil continued her high scoring exploits with 22 points to pace LCA to the win.
Melissa Goss had a huge all-around effort with nine points to go with 10 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals for the winners.
Hannah Salmons and Anna Reimink each scored four points and Jess Slone and Heather Plastow each had two for the Cougars. Reimink had five rebounds, while Slone had nine caroms and Plastow eight in the win.
LCA, which beat Clinton Christian for the second time this season, improves to 12-10.
The Cougars will face Bethany Christian on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Class 1-A Fort Wayne Blackhawk Sectional.
