Jean Ann Hopkins, Pierceton, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017 at 6:16 a.m. in Fort Wayne’s Lutheran Hospital of Indiana. She was 50 years old.

Born on January 11, 1967, Jean was the daughter of John Stump, Sr. and Carol (Teeple) Stump. She was a 1985 graduate of Wawasee High School in Syracuse, Indiana.

On June 23, 1989 Jean was married to Victor Hopkins in Clunette United Methodist Church, Clunette. The two have shared 31 years together; Victor survives in Pierceton.

She had worked as an event coordinator for Jerky Shop, which was fitting as she liked to cook. She also enjoyed gardening, especially flowers – irises, daisies and roses were her favorites. She was a loving mother and had previously served as a club leader for her children and had volunteered with Kosciusko County 4-H.

Those left to cherish memories of Jean include her husband, Victor Hopkins, Pierceton; daughters: Terin Hopkins, Warsaw and Nancy (Aaron) Gross, Crocker, Missouri; son: Robert Hopkins, Pierceton; four grandchildren: Aden, Brady, Jordan, Emmelyn; a fifth grandchild on the way; father, John (Terri) Stump, Sr., Warsaw; mother, Carol Treft, Milford; four siblings: John (Rebecca) Stump, Jr., Cromwell, Todd (Dawn) Stump, Cromwell, Tina Stump, Warsaw and Cory Stump, North Webster; grandmother, Lenora Stump, Warsaw and a large extended family.

Those who preceded Jean in passing include her maternal grandparents, Gordon and Rosemary Teeple, and paternal grandparents, Robert Stump and Ruth Hawley.

Friends may join the family to share memories and for visitation Tuesday, Jan. 24th from 11 p.m. – 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow the second half of visitation, beginning at 6 p.m. Pastor Hollie White of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, at a later date.

Titus Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
