Valley Basketball: Vikes Drop Fourth Straight

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley lost its fourth straight boys basketball game Friday night, 65-57, to Three Rivers Conference foe Southwood.

Trailing just by four points at the half, 29-25, Valley allowed the Knights to take an 18-11 advantage in the fourth quarter to spread out its first double-digit lead of the night.

Southwood made the biggest difference at the free throw line, going 13-15 while the Vikings were just 2-4 from the line.

Jarod Duzenbery was a man for Valley, going 10-14 from the floor to lead the team with 21 points. He also added six rebounds, three steals and two assists. Keith Wright added 16 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.

The Knights held Alec Craig to a 3-14 shooting night and just six points.

Four Knights reached double figures, led by 18 apiece from Carson Blair and Matthew Nose. Blake Martz had 14 points, Peyton Trexler scored 10 points and Dallas Holmes added nine rebounds.

Southwood moves to 9-4 overall and 4-1 in the TRC while Valley falls to 6-9 and 2-3.

The Vikings get back at it Saturday in hosting Clinton Christian.
