Four local high school cross country runners, including a pair from the state-bound Warsaw girls team, have been honored for their academics.

Ashley Erba of Warsaw and Holly Frantz of Whitko, both seniors, were named to the Academic All-State team by the IATCCC.

Erba, the defending state champion, will lead the No. 16 Tigers into the State Finals on Saturday in Terre Haute.

Named as honorable mention selections were Warsaw junior Madeline Hooks and Whitko senior Becca Thomson.
