Ghosts, cowboys, princesses and aliens will scare up some treats in the residence halls of Manchester University on Halloween night, Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Trick-or-treat activities overtake the North Manchester campus from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., when youngsters can roam the hallways for candy and stop by the lounges for events especially for them. It’s all free, created by MU students annually for the children of their North Manchester community neighbors.

Student residents of Garver Hall have created a Haunted House so scary that children under age 10 need someone over age 16 to accompany them. For best “results,” children are encouraged to begin at Schwalm Hall, then move to Helman and Oakwood halls, ending the evening at East and Garver halls.

Schwalm Hall on Wayne Street will offer apple-bobbing and other Halloween games.
Helman Hall on College Avenue is having scary stories, pumpkin-decorating and a costume contest.
Oakwood Hall on College Avenue is hosting a fall carnival with games.
East Hall on East Street compete for best-decorated wing, with games in the lobby.
Garver Hall on East Street is where the haunted house awaits.
