WINONA LAKE – The Lakeland Christian Academy boys basketball team came out on the short end of a 67-42 final to visiting Victory Christian Academy Friday night.

The guests led 21-16 after the opening quarter before taking control of the contest with a 22-6 scoring edge in the pivotal second frame.

Josh McDaniel had a big night for the Cougars with 20 points.

Landon Twombly finished with 10 points and led LCA with eight rebounds.

The Cougars, who have lost five in a row, drop to 4-8.

LCA hosts South Bend Trinity Saturday night.
