A car crash on CR 1350 North near CR 750 West occurred at about 2:40 p.m. this afternoon near Nappanee.

An off duty Indiana State Police trooper was the first on scene and initially reported there were three patients  with critical injuries. According to reporter Deb Patterson who was on  the scene however, it appeared the female driver suffered the most injuries, but the extent of her injuries are unknown. The woman was taken by ambulance to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. One male patient was also transported for treatment.

According to information received at the scene by Patterson, the female driver of the car was southbound when she stopped at the intersection, but then pulled into the path of a pickup truck. The truck struck the car, then continued on into a utility pole, which knocked down power lines and started a transformer on fire.

A westbound semi was unable to avoid striking the car a second time.

Patterson said there were three people in the pickup truck, but all were out of the vehicle.

Motorists should avoid the area due to downed power lines.

Indiana State Police are investigating the crash.
