KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — When health concerns arise, looking for available services and resources in the community can be challenging. The added stress of determining eligibility and applying for benefits often makes the task overwhelming. Located in the Health Services Pavilion Warsaw, The Help Center has provided resource and referral services since 2009. K21 Health Foundation has been a consistent financial supporter of the program since its inception, including a recent grant of $48,200 for operational expenses.

Employed by The Help Center since 2011, Laura Deal-Decker is a Social Worker who possesses a wealth of knowledge about social service programs that are available locally, as well as on the state and federal levels. Laura also has the ability to provide some limited financial assistance to eligible Kosciusko County residents through a number of funds including the Cancer Care Fund of Kosciusko County, Good Samaritan Fund, and the Riley Kids Fund.

“One of the benefits of The Help Center is Laura’s ability to assess the needs of her clients and then suggest appropriate referrals to programs for which they may be eligible. Often those services are available within the Pavilion” said K21 President & CEO Rich Haddad. “Laura’s knowledge and direction provides the clearest and most direct path to the help that her clients need, wherever those solutions are available.”
